The AGROinLOG project partner Spanish Agri-food Cooperatives has organized the workshop “Energy efficiency and implantation of biomass logistic centers in the forage and vegetable oil sectors” in order to present different opportunities and solutions for improving the competitiveness of agro industries, through the results obtained at different R&D projects.
The event will take place in the industrial park Mercazaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain) next 18 September 2018, from 9 a.m to 15 p.m. This event will be the framework to present the European project AGROinLOG in a specific workshop about integrated biomass logistics centers. The workshop, called ‘Conditions for the development of integrated biomass logistics centers in agro-industries as a new business opportunity’, will begin at 12 a.m. Within it, several experts will present and discuss over the potential of establishing Integrated Biomass Logistics Centers (IBLCs) in a number of specific agricultural sectors and industries in Europe.
Specifically, possible intermediate products and logistics solutions will be presented, in order to collect feedback from relevant stakeholders from the sectors represented at the event.
In addition, CIRCE, coordinator of AGROinLOG, has been invited to participate in this event in order to present the SCOOPE project, in which both AGROinLOG partners are also working. Within this project, CIRCE and Spanish Agri-food Cooperatives have developed a self-assessment tool that provides real-time information about the energy consumption of the industrial processes. This tool helps the agroindustries to identify the points of low energy efficiency and the decision about implementing measures to save energy.
