An interesting article under the title “EU-projekt om biokol” in the framework of AGROinLOG project has just been published in Lantmännen´s member journal “Grodden”, Nr 5-6, December 2019.
AGROinLOG aims to take advantage of the unused resources in agriculture and to create new business opportunities in sector. Sweden is represented by Lantmännen and the research institute RISE who collaborates in the project with the goal to explore the possibility of producing biochar from, for example, chaff at mills and straw. Currently a feasibility study is ongoing in order to look at these possibilities. The idea is to investigate whether the old feed plant in Skänninge can be used, which was closed down already in 2002 and the equipment since then has been left unused.
