AGROinLOG shows the opportunities of the Integrated Biomass Logistics Centres to the Spanish agro-food sector

AGROinLOG took part yesterday in the national workshop “Investments in renewable energy in agro-food cooperatives”, which was organized by the EU project SCOOPE. The objective of this project is to reduce energy consumption in agroindustries by implementing cost-effective solutions, and this event was part of the initiatives foreseen to contribute to that goal, being AGROinLOG one of the initiatives invited to present its activities and developments.

The event took place in the University of Agriculture Engineering in Madrid, and was organized by the Spanish Agro-food cooperatives. The workshop counted with a vast presence of professionals from the sector as well as from financing entities. CIRCE, as project coordinator of AGROinLOG, presented the opportunities that becoming an Integrated Biomass Logistics Centres (IBLC) offer to the agroindustries, taking into consideration their existing resources (biomass, equipment, personnel and contacts).

The presentation also served to introduce the speech from AGROPAL cooperative, who is operating already as an IBLC producing straw pellets to cover the heat demands in two facilities belonging to the group.
